Create and Manage Appointments

Schedule medical visits, meetings, coaching, and other time-based commitments with attendees and reminders.

Appointments are used for events with a start and end time. They are ideal for household schedules, medical visits, meetings, education, and coaching sessions.

Create an appointment

  1. Open Appointments and select New Appointment.
  2. Enter the title, category, and location.
  3. Set the start and end times.
  4. Link the appointment to a household or household member if it belongs to a specific context.
  5. Assign the appointment to a user when one person is responsible for coordination.
  6. Add attendees for everyone who should be included in updates.
  7. Save the record.

Status behavior

Appointments can be scheduled, completed, cancelled, or postponed. Use status updates to keep reminders and dashboards accurate.

Validation rule to remember

The appointment end time must be after the start time. If the end is earlier, the record will not save.

Attendees and assignee

  • Assigned to: the user responsible for the appointment logistics.
  • Attendees: users who should stay informed or be present.

Reminders

Appointments support reminder scheduling in the same way tasks do. Depending on deployment settings, reminders may be sent by email or by email and WhatsApp.
